A man named Stephen McDaniel convicted for the crime. In fact, he himself admitted to strangling and dismembering Lauren in 2014. Later, he was sentenced to life in prison with a chance for parole in 30 or so years.

Several days passed and her friends finally took an initiative. They reported her missing in the nearby police station on June 30, 2011, as per Wikipedia. They started the search and found her limbs & torso in the garbage trash.

Initially, McDaniel acted as a concerned acquaintance and showed that he had no idea what happened to Giddings. Through a local media company, the authorities were able to find the real culprit.

The incident took place on June 26, 2011, when McDaniel brutally took the life of an innocent girl for no reason. He also said that he extremely hates women and used to bully girls in his school days.

The police suspected him after they discovered Giddings’ torso in a garbage container outside the Georgia Avenue apartments. This was the place where she and McDaniel were neighbors.

Recently, on October 11, 2019, Stephen McDaniel again applied to open his case again for the trail but the judge denied his request. This time the killer try to prove that police investigation violated his rights.

He accused them of not advising him of his rights during that period. According to the source, he never went to trial because he pleaded guilty in spring 2014. During the investigation session, Stephen confessed about slaying the law student.

 

 

The late law student was born to her parents on the 18th of April 1984 in Takoma Park, Maryland, United States. Hence, Lauren Giddings’ age was 27 years as of 2011.Her father and mother (names are not available) were shocked after they heard about their daughters’ brutal slaying.She was the students of Mercer University where Stephen was also studying.Lauren used to live in an apartment Georgia Avenue apartments which were not very far from her college.

According to her close one, she was a social, athletic, fun-loving, and family-oriented woman.She used to call McDaniel as a creepy neighbor and never talked to him. But he became obsessed with the law student and also started secretly following her.
