Sriram Venkataraman Wiki (IAS) Age, Wife, Biography, Family & Facts

Sriram Venkataraman (born in 1986) is an Indian Survey Director, Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer, Medical Doctor, and Controversial Personality from Kochi, Kerala. He is currently working as a director of the Kerala survey department.

Sriram recently appointed as a Survey Director by the state cabinet on Thursday. Earlier, the officer used to serve as a sub-collector and SDM (Sub Divisional Magistrate) at the government of Kerala in Devikulam.

However, in 2017, Venkataraman garnered media attention after he strongly protested against illegal constructions in Munnar hill station. It also resulted in the removal of the IAS officer from his sub-collector post.

The officer has a sibling, a sister named Laxmi Venkit. He completed his school education from Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir – Girinagar in 2004.

Later, Sriram graduated and earned his MBBS degree from Trivandrum Medical College. In fact, the officer received his MD in General medicine degree from SCB Medical College & Hospital.

Recently, on August 03, 2019, the IAS Officer got arrested for rash driving on a public way of the Indian Penal Code. According to a source, Sriram also detained under section 304 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder).

The incident took place on August 02, 2019 after Venkataraman killed a 35-years-old journalist named “KM Basheer” with his reckless driving. The late Basheer worked in the Malayalam daily and was bureau chief of Siraj.

Sriram was also drunk at that night and many eye witnesses claimed that he was one who was driving the car. The officer was with his model friend “Wafa Firoze” who was also the owner of the luxury car.

They were returning after attending a party in a club in a posh area. KM Basheer was brutally hit while riding his bike by drunken IAS officer. In fact, Kori Sanjaykumar Gurudin (Deputy Police Commissioner) first revealed that Venkataraman was driving the vehicle in a drunken state as per evidence.

The IAS officer and his friend received VIP treatment by the police after the accident. Sriram also lied there and claimed that Wafa was behind the wheel when the incident took place.

Later, they returned without any legal action carried out by the police. Venkataraman also received minor injuries which he treated in the private hospital where he refused to provide his blood samples.

 

Wikipedia: In 2018, IAS officer Sriram went to Boston, Massachusetts in order to achieve an education from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.The young Survey Director studied Master’s in Public Health in 2018 and recently returned to Kerala.In the initial days of his career, Venkataraman became a house surgeon at govt medical college Trivandrum.Then, Venkataraman also served as an Assistant Collector at Indian Administrative Services.The officer also worked at Indian Administrative Services as an assistant collector.A few years back, Sriram also became an Asst. Secretary at Dept Food and Public distribution.The controversial accident took place a few meters away from the Museum police station in the capital city of Kerala.

Moreover, Basheer died on the spot and his motorcycle smashed between Venkataraman’s car and a roadside wall.Wedding & Personal Life: He is a married man and survived by his spouse and two children. Sriram Venkataraman’s wife is also working in a Government public sector.Shafeeq (An auto driver) reported the incident and said that the IAS officer was behind the wheel.Physique Details: The Survey Director’s height is 6 Feet 0 Inch (183 centimeters tall).The Indian Administrative Service officer also maintains athletic, lean, and muscular physique as he does exercise in the gym on a regular basis. His estimated body weight is 78 kilograms (171 pounds).
