Conrad Roy Suicide Case

On July 13, 2014, Roy while communicating over text with his long-distance girlfriend “Michelle” committed suicide. He poisoned himself by gassing himself with carbon monoxide in his truck. He was born on September 12, 1995, and worked as a marine salvage captain.

On February 4, 2015, Carter accused of assisting her boyfriend in the suicide. In fact, the grand jury found many text messages, emails, and other digital proves where she encouraged her boyfriend to kill himself.

On June 16, 2016, the judge “Lawrence Moniz” of the Bristol County Juvenile Court of Massachusetts found her guilty and said that Michelle was on the phone when Conrad committed suicide. Therefore, the judge served her a two-and-a-half-year term, with 15 months to be served in the Bristol County House of Corrections.

 

Michelle Carter was born on 11th August 1996 in Plainville, Massachusetts, USA. As of 2018, her age is Twenty-two (22) years old. She was born to David Carter (father) and Gail Carter (mother). Furthermore, the girl attended King Philip Regional High School.

In 2012, she met Roy at Florida while each had come to visit their relatives. Over the course of two years, they again met twice or thrice. Later, Carter started her relationship with boyfriend Roy.

Earlier, Michelle also discouraged him to commit suicide and also suggests taking professional help. But one day she decided to help him die. Therefore, Carter made a plan of playing Romeo and Juliet with Roy. In the end, Roy took his life.

 

Carter’s defense lawyer argued that the decision to take his life was Roy’s own and he did it earlier also.On September 23, 2018, a TV film titled “Conrad & Michelle: If Words Could Kill” was released by Lifetime.Furthermore, it stars Austin P. McKenzie as Conrad Roy and Bella Thorne as Michelle Carter.

She was on prescription psychiatric medication at the age of 14.Her boyfriend Roy consulted numerous mental health professionals and told them that he wanted to die.Moreover, Roy’s family were upset by Gail Carter when she posted Michelle’s prom pictures on social media.
